Why We Consider Vermilion the Best Venue for Parties in Manchester

What separates a good party from an unforgettable one? Turning a birthday, anniversary, wedding, or work party into an experience that has everyone chatting doesn’t happen by magic. There’s so much planning involved to ensure your party goes off with a bang—and not the least of your worries should be the venue.

The venue is the backdrop, atmosphere, and experience that gives your party its mojo. For people that want to get it just right, whether that's a large-scale award ceremony, a legendary night out in Manchester, or a romantic Valentine’s Day experience, Vermilion is always a hit.

What to Know About Choosing an Event Venue

Lots of planning goes into any good event. So what do you need to consider? Read on for a run-down of the essential considerations of any event and how our unique six-room experience, Vermilion, can provide an incredible day, afternoon, or evening and how Vermilion measures up.

Capacity

From the top: your venue needs to be able to host all your guests comfortably. The venue should have enough space but also offer suitable rooms or areas that make the guests feel comfortable. A too-large room can be just as bad as one that is not spacious enough. The right-sized space can give a good level of privacy.

Vermilion had six different private spaces within the venue, each tailored to meet the needs of different-sized parties. Our total capacity is 1,300, and we can combine events so that more than one room is used while guests are free to roam between the spaces.

  1. The Dining Room: Capacity of 250

  2. The Maharaja Room: Private Dining for up to 18 guests

  3. Cinnabar Cocktail Lounge: Capacity of 200

  4. The Abacus Gallery: Capacity of 100

  5. The Alan Turing Room: Capacity of 200

  6. The Grand Suite (848m²): Capacity of 800

The food and beverage minimum (F&B minimum) is another element of the capacity of the venue that needs to be considered. If it’s possible to find out the venue’s F&B minimum, and you know your party will take you significantly over the F&B minimum, your event could be more lucrative than usual for the venue, and you might be entitled to negotiate a complimentary service of offering.

Amenities

Amenities are the venue's features that help actualise your plans and make the party possible for everyone in attendance. Here are some amenities you might want to consider.

  • Catering

  • Technology

  • Decorations

  • AV equipment

  • Entertainment

  • Accessibility aids

  • Set-up and clean-up

It’s a good idea to plan out everything you want to do at your party and consider what amenities might be needed. If you’re planning an awards ceremony, you might need a venue that can offer aperitifs, and snacks, provide champagne or prosecco for toasts, and help you out with microphones and a digital screen. In this case, we’d recommend our Abacus Gallery with its own bar and AV system.

Location and Parking

Location is one of the most important aspects of party planning. You want to ensure the venue is easy to get to for all guests in attendance. Consider how all attendees will be travelling to the venue. Are people flying in? Are there those who need to use public transport? Will it be possible to arrange taxis at the end of the party?

Are guests staying nearby? You might want to search for venues with good connections to hotels, so your guests don’t need to travel far at the end of the night.
